The inaugural Detlef Schrempf Celebrity Golf Classic was in 1994 - the vision of Eastside Chrysler Jeep and Sports Radio KJR AM, partnering to raise money for Boyer Children’s Clinic. At the time, Detlef and Mari Schrempf were making their way back to the Pacific Northwest through the Seattle Sonics, and Det joined the Classic as the celebrity host.
In 2001, Audi and Volkswagen Dealers of the Puget Sound became the title sponsor and in 2006 Western Washington Toyota Dealers stepped up to the tee.
Celebrities from across the nation, from Hollywood and the athletic arena, have participated in the Golf Classic. Notables include David Robinson, Bob Cousy, Kevin Calabro, Brent Barry, Hootie and the Blowfish, Desmond Mason, Todd MacCulloch, Brian Doyle Murray, Joel Murray, Ryan Stiles, Robbie Tobeck, Sam Perkins, Brock and Damon Huard and a host of other highly entertaining hackers!
We're rounding the corner on 18 years of producing what most feel is the best amateur charity golf tournament in the Seattle area. Find out why!
Foursomes range from $3,750 to $5,000, and include valuable benefits like the highly-coveted Tee-Prize Bags, sponsored by Adidas, tickets to the Party/Gala on Saturday preceding the Golf Classic, additional foursome on your choice of a premiere Seattle area course, a ride to and from McCormick Woods on the Celebrity Party Boat, and of course, non-stop fun, food, beverages, prizes and entertaiment at the Classic.
