providing hope, care and assistance for Northwest children and families
Holiday Party

December 2, 2001, the Detlef Schrempf Foundation hosted its first Holiday Family Cruise. Detlef and his “special buddy from the North Pole” entertained families on a three-hour afternoon cruise around the Puget Sound, aboard the beautiful and elegant Royal Argosy.

Parents deposited their kids in Nintendo’s Magical Gameland, under the watchful eyes of professional nannies from A Nanny For U – experts on “who’s naughty and nice”. Kris Kringle hit the scene early to greet children and pose for traditional Santa photos.

Children delighted in the festivities, including fast and fun food, cookie decorating, holiday arts and crafts, games, videos, roving clowns and carolers. And parents enjoyed peace-of-mind, a delicious brunch by Consolodated Restaurants and special libations from Sawtooth Winery and Skyy Spirits.

Parents also got a jump on holiday shopping with a unique toy store/auction open for business throughout the cruise and 100% of the proceeds going to charity.

In 2007, the Holiday Cruise became the Holiday Party as Detlef and Mari opened their home to guests for an intimate evening of fun and fundraising.
